There has been an uprise in food reviews, with many people hopping on this bandwagon of reviewing local and fast food restaurants. #FoodReview has an outstanding 40.3 billion views on TikTok, followed by millions of TikTokers under that tag.
These sensational TikTokers include Keith Lee (@keith_lee125), 1hourlunchbreak (@1hourlunchbreak), and Luke Foods (@lukefoods) are examples of the many food critics on TikTok.
In early 2023, Tiktok was introduced to a new food critic, with his most-viewed video earning 18.2 million views. This Tiktoker is known as Beavo (@beavisbrandon), a.kla. Brandon Beavis. This TikTok sensation has a following of 1.1 million followers and 155,000 on Instagram.
“His videos blew up due to him not chewing his food and swallowing it within three bites,” senior Peyton Zimmerman said. “There have been many close calls as he is not careful with his chewing abilities, and this is one of the reasons he went viral. I think he’s a silly guy who should be more serious about how he chews.”
Beavo has grown a big fan base within only months of reviewing food. Most of Beavo’s fanbase are teenage boys, who find his videos silly yet entertaining. These videos caused Beavo to become a meme overnight.
“I love Beavo,” sophomore Golda Kitchell said. “However, with a fanbase, hate will always find its way. Most of the ‘hate’ comes from underage TikTok users who leave comments under his posts.”
This sudden rise of fame has encouraged Beavo to collaborate with other TikTok Stars. In a video posted on December 14, 2023, we can see two others joining Beavo while dancing and singing. These Tiktok stars include @Isaac H.P, who is a Tiktok star with a following of 4.1 million. Isaac’s main content is silly and fun videos. The other user that is seen singing in the video is @mdotrofficial, who currently only has a following of 752.1k on TikTok. Most of M Dot R’s videos include him singing since he recently released a single.
Overall, Beavo is a TikToker who will continue to either grow a bigger fanbase or plummet within a few months.
