Many things in the small town of Logansport happen, especially during Christmas. The downtown has a big celebration of Christmas tree lighting to start the holiday season. 

Spencer Park’s light show:

Another thing you can see is Spencer Park’s light-up Christmas show. This is a tradition in our town where the park is decorated with Christmas lights and decorations to give the place a pop of color. This gives children and adults a Christmas memory. 

Help those in need:

In Walmart, there are Christmas trees at each entrance with little angels with kids’ names. These are Salvation Army Angel trees. The reason why we have these around is because each tag is for each kid who cannot afford or get the things they want or need for Christmas. The tags have the child’s name and their Christmas wish list.

When you are at a store you typically see Santa and another person ringing bells with a red kettle accepting donations. The reason why the red kettles accept donations is because it helps people around the country who cannot afford to eat warm food in a place. You can put some loose change you found in your car or a dollar bill. Anything is accepted to help those in need.

Last-minute Christmas Shopping:

Christmas is a holiday where you share with the ones you love. Many of our local stores are open for the season waiting for previous or new customers to buy some stuff for your friends and family.

Make gifts:

Christmas is usually hectic in most stores so if you don’t like going to a big crowded place make some D.I.Y gifts for your family and friends. The best thing to make with homemade gifts is crocheting or something that you can make out of your hobby.

Make a Christmas Wish List:

You could write and decorate a list for your friends, family and Santa. That way you can give them all an idea of what you want and not get something random that you may not want for Christmas.

Find some recipes for the Holiday season:

You can find some recipes online or from other people that go with the Christmas theme this year. Online TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and many more apps and websites have holiday-themed dinners, and treats for you and your family.

Play in the snow:

There are many ways to play in the snow, whether you can build a snowman with your friends and family, or have a big snowball fight with them. You could go to Spencer Park and go sledding. One other thing you could do if you are artistic is make art out of the snow. For example, drawing something out of the snow, making snow angels or making sculptures out of snow.
