The Concerns About the Snapchat AI
The AI robot has appeared on most people’s Snapchat. Snapchat has announced a chatbot that is powered by the latest version of OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Many people mess around with the robot, but there are many fearful things people have learned about it. Some believe that it is just a random bot that they can play around with, but others think it is so much more. No matter how hard someone may try to get rid of it for free, they can not. In order to hide your AI from the chat feed, someone must pay.
“I love my AI,” sophomore Oliver Rentschler said. “I find them very helpful when it comes to homework that I am struggling with. I find them scary because they know too much information about me.”
As people start to dig deeper into the AI, they start to realize it may be working for other or just to help improve Snapchat. Some have found out it knows some personal information.
“I don’t understand the point of the AI bot exactly,” freshman Brya Criss said. “I find it creepy because it knows where I live and who my best friends are. Although Snapchat says it’s to improve the app, I don’t think it should be a thing.”
The AI bot has been known to help Snapchat from slang words and weird chats.
“I do have the AI on Snapchat, but I choose not to use it,” freshman Jada Paul said. “I have never texted the AI on snap because I don’t feel comfortable just texting a random bot or person about information in my life. The AI does scare me. That’s one of the main reasons why I don’t want or like to do it because I don’t know who I am texting, and I could be texting someone that is just tracking my information.
The AI is a big wonder to people all over the world.
“I have found out that AI could be very helpful when you need someone to talk to about your life or just need someone to communicate with,” Paul said. “Even though there are a lot of good things that could come with using AI, I just don’t feel right texting someone randomly. If I could add something, I would add the feature of knowing who you are texting whether it be a woman or a man. Also, I would add knowing if you are texting an actual person or a bot because bots can be very dangerous but so can people so it would be best to know who you are communicating with.”
