“Fantastic Mr. Fox” is a 2009 stop-motion movie directed by Wes Anderson. It has breathtaking, whimsy animation that captures wild animals that are domesticated or rather evolved to act like humans. This movie has a rather likeness and special place in people’s hearts for being their favorite stop-motion or Wes Anderson movie.

The movie is about an egotistical fox named Mr. Fox (George Clooney) who loves to hunt at farms with his wife Mrs. Fox (Meryl Streep).  Two years ago, 12 fox years ago, the two always hunted at bird farms, but when they got captured, Mrs. Fox had to break the news that she was pregnant and that the two needed to be a functional family. In the present, the two live in a burrow with their son Ash (Jason Schwartzman), who is now 12 years old. Mr. Fox still needs a boost to raise his ego, so he decides to buy a house that is in a tree. Moving his wife, son and his nephew Kristopherson (Eric Anderson) out of the poor burrow and into a rich oak tree.

That house is next to the meanest farmers in town Boggis, Bunce and Bean. This was a chance to give Mr. Fox’s ego a boost. He goes to each farm with his new friend Kylie the Opossum, and in three days, they rob those three farms. This makes those three farmers skeptical, and they go to Mr. Fox’s home and destroy it while also shooting his tail off, making his own family and friends dig underground. They stay there for many hours until they hear digging. It was their neighbors, clearly mad at him for leading the farmers to destroy their town just so he could be the Fantastic Fox.

This is a 10 out of 10 movie, but sadly, it did not do well at the box office, barely making $40 million. But, it was nominated for the Oscars for best animation and score. This is a movie to watch either when you’re bored, getting ready for bed, or even babysitting kids. It has a perfect blend of comedy and whimsy tied with seriousness and survival for a kid’s movie as well as tying different relationships together and knotting the bond with them, showing how relatable either Mr. and Mrs. Fox is to Ash and Kristopher’s relationship as cousins. Then, it also has beautiful stop motion giving it a nice touch of Wes Anderson to it and making it one of the more unique stop motion movies ever.
