From evil stepmothers to magical ice powers, Disney can be a big part of people’s childhoods. When people watch Disney movies at a young age, they learn many life lessons like facing their fears and stepping out of their comfort zone.
“Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever,” founder Walt Disney said.
With 494 movies, Disney affects people’s lives every day.
“My favorite Disney movie is ‘Tangled’ because it’s one of the first Disney movies I remember watching, and I fell in love with it and watched it on repeat,” freshman Mikaela Hite said.
From this, she learned that you can’t always trust everyone, and you should be cautious of who you trust.
“My first magical Disney moment was when I was younger and my mom had gotten me a Snow White dress,” Hite said. “It was my favorite thing ever. I wore it all the time. I’m also going to Disney World in October, so I’m sure there are many more magical moments in store for me there.”
Disney movies can give people that sense of adventure and fun.
“My favorite Disney movie is “Princess and the Frog,” freshman Markitta Bault said. “It’s my favorite because Tiana did whatever it took to open her own restaurant to get to her end goal by being such a hard worker.”
From this, Bault learned that she would have to work hard in order to obtain her dreams and goals.
“My first magical Disney moment was when I got to meet Anna, Elsa, and Tiana at Disney World,” Bault said.
“I really like Monsters, Inc. because it’s just a movie that I grew up watching, and I think the monsters are funny,” sophomore Veda Fagner said.
Fagner learned not to be afraid of something that’s different.
“The monsters have been taught that humans are dangerous, but they end up growing as characters,” Fagner said. “They give humans a chance, and they start to form a connection with the little girl.”
Whether someone is four or forty, Disney movies hold a special place in people’s hearts.
“That’s the real trouble with the world. Too many people grow up,” Disney said.
