As one of the authors of the phone bill, why exactly was the bill created?

I was not the original author, so I didn’t create this bill. I was the co-author, so I only really have concerns about wireless devices distracting from learning experiences.

Does the bill state students must put them in their lockers?

I don’t know how what backpacks have anything to do with the phone bill.

Do you think this will affect students negatively or positively?

I hope a student takes this as a positive experience and concentrates on instructional time as intended.

Will this bill stop students from using their phones?

The bill states that schools should adopt and implement a wireless communication device policy during instructional time. If the school administers the policy correctly, instructional time should focus on learning the material for that time.

How do you think this bill has affected education in general?

This bill was only put into effect on July 1, 2024. I believe it is too early to have good data on the bill’s outcome.
