Fall sports are often some of the most looked-forward-to parts of the early school year. Football, soccer, cross-country, tennis and volleyball are the sports that fall into the fall season roster.

“I play soccer in the fall,” center attacking mid Kiaraneli Tomas said. “I chose to compete because I am very passionate about it, and it is very enjoyable for me to play. Soccer is like a safe space for me or an escape. I also love playing with my teammates and having fun at practices and games.”

This year, the football team ended their season in fifth place in the division, holding a win-to-loss ratio of 4-3.

“The success in cross country can be taken on multiple different levels,” junior Carson Dubes said, “Obviously, you have the tournament at the end of the season, but you also have personal achievements dependent on the time you run. I would say it was a very successful year sending two runners to the regional race but also having everyone on the team PR (personal record) at least once.”

Following the football team, Cross Country was able to hold a solid standing with some huge player achievements. Winning the end-of-season championship and allowing for a few team records.

“The amount of effort we would put in together as a team really helped us this year, as well as the aggressiveness,” Tomas said”. Communication on the field also helped us a lot, and using people’s strengths to the best of their abilities. Our coaches were good at placing us where they saw us fit best and most helpful.”

The volleyball team this year held a solid 78th place in the state. They came in with a team larger than last year’s and were able to show the teaching abilities of the new volleyball coaches.
