The newest season of “Young Sheldon,” season seven, was released on February 14. “Young Sheldon” premiered on Sept. 25, 2017. The show was mostly enjoyable with a 76% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for season one. At the end of it, the whole show scored 82% overall. This was promising for a show that is a spinoff of such a successful show as “The Big Bang Theory” was. The show centers around Sheldon’s upbringing in Texas and develops him as much more than just an extremely intelligent person. It is a comedy at times and sometimes a tense drama, making it much better for the viewer.

The show is mixed in episodic episodes and linear episodes. The show has some episodes sprinkled in that only serve to introduce season topics. For example, the fifth episode of the first season is made to show Sheldon using his smarts to help the football team with their plays through statistics. He only stops because his mother sees it puts pressure on him and forces him to stop for his well-being. It’s through episodes like these that we see Sheldon grow and develop when it comes to stressful situations. This episode called out to those who overwork themselves and can’t stop unless someone intervenes. Overall, it was a great episode.

Although this show is exceptionally great, it is not without faults. It does on a fair amount overuse that Sheldon is majorly disliked. However, the growth in the later seasons means much more. Another fault is how the show tends to lean on a couple of stereotypes hard. Though at times can be enjoyable, it can get tiring of the same thing. One recurring one is Sheldon’s religious mom who doesn’t have any interest or belief in science. Not everything is bad though. Some enjoyable aspects of the show are its witty comedy, and its great suspense that makes you itch to watch the next episode right away.

Sheldon does grow up as the show goes on. This creates a split between seasons with the viewer as the younger Sheldon is more immature, easy to agitate, and stubborn with even minute changes to anything. In comparison, the older Sheldon is more open to change, less easy to agitate, and can eventually accept that everything won’t always go his way. This growth made it connect with the audience as if we were seeing an actual person improve. It’s joyful when he overcomes hardships in a way may us would. I love the show and recommend it to all of my friends who do hear me out. If I had to give a rating to this absolutely priceless masterpiece it would be beyond any rating. “Young Sheldon” is a definite watch for any comedy enjoyers who love a good laugh.
