What does a typical day look like for you?

Well, most of the time we rotate. For example, we just rotated. So now I’m on making pasta and premier meals for students and then after getting all that ready, we continue to get the lunch prepared for the day.

What’s the most challenging part about your job?

Aucencia Gomez is unpacking milk and juices.

I’d say when we have two-hour delays because we still have to come in at the same time, but everything is just different. It affects us in the afternoon because we don’t have much time to get things prepared for the next day.

What’s your favorite meal to prepare for students?

People are going to think I’m crazy, but I like making Alfredo pasta.

For how long have you been a lunch lady at LHS?

This will be my 8th year working here.

How is the lunch menu scheduled?

Donna Downham is organizing the vegetables for lunch.

Our menu is already planned out for us by the month, so it’s easier for us to just finish the tasks and not have another worry.

How do you manage to stay organized?

Well, you have to be organized, but we have help being organized. Stuff is already written out for us, so everything is assigned to us, the way we’re supposed to do it, and basically all we do is get it done.
