Homecoming Events at LHS (Vote Here)
The posters by the main offices display the Homecoming candidates from each club. King and queen candidates were chosen by each individual club via internal voting.
Even though the new school year is just starting, Homecoming is approaching fast. Many activities are planned as students prepare for the Homecoming game that will be played Friday, September 9 at 7:00 pm, against Arsenal Tech High School.
“We have dress-up days for spirit week and we will be having a hacky sack scavenger hunt throughout the week,” math teacher Erica Plutat said, “If you find the hacky sack, you can turn them into Mrs. Myers for a prize. There will be more info about this to come in the announcements.”
Another event that happens during Homecoming week is the homecoming parade where the top five homecoming candidates are announced.
This year the top five king candidates are seniors Grayson Long, Jason Inyavong, Joseph Argueta, Tristan Kitchell, Yazetl Dominguez-Lopez. The top five queen candidates are Halle Vancuren, Luna Tafolla, Maria Mancera, Moo Paw, and Yadira Alvarado.
Finally, to wrap the week up before the big game, a pep rally session will be held.
“On Friday during school, we will have a pep rally MC-ed by Mr. Jones,” Plutat said, “Homecoming candidates will be announced, the cheer term will perform, the dance team will perform, the band will perform, athletes will be recognized, etc.”

Tuesday- P.J. Day
Wednesday- White Lies T-shirt Day
Thursday- Adam Sandler Day
Friday- Berry Pride Day
