There has been a lot of controversy about this year’s Super Bowl performer, Bad Bunny. The internet is in a haze about whether this performance met the expectations they had, while some bluntly don’t want a Latino performer. The internet is being split into two with this controversy, and whether or not he deserved to perform at such a big sports event that is being looked forward to.

“Everyone hating on Bad Bunny for being a part of the Super Bowl is very racist because he’s Puerto Rican, and it’s such a cultural thing,” freshman Aaliyah Ramirez said.

Honestly, culture in the Super Bowl is very vague, so to have that representation for the Latino community would mean a lot, especially with what’s been happening against their community.

“For him to represent his country is such a big thing as well,” Ramirez said.

It would mean a lot not only to Bad Bunny to be a representative figure, but also to kids around the world who have dreams like Bad Bunny. It will show you that you don’t have to be born in America or meet American standards to become something bigger than what people expect out of you.

His performance was really fun, elevated and exciting. Yes, there are still media opinions that are negative, as suspected. We personally enjoyed it plenty. Our favorite part was the end when he was mentioning all these countries, and when he gave a little boy his Grammy that he was awarded.

Overall, we think his Super Bowl is a hit. It went above and beyond to meet the expectations we had. Not only that, but it felt so nostalgic and like a fever dream. Although it was in another language, which we didn’t understand, the vibe was just so top-tier. Especially the inclusivity, it was just so terrific.
