The girls volleyball team (0-27) hasn’t had the season they expected, but they want to end strong by winning their first game against Winamac on senior night on Thursday, Oct. 6.

“Last season, we played Winamac, and it was a dog fight, but we came out with a win,” senior Chloe Kelly said. “I know with our record this year looks a little different, but this is our last chance to get a win heading into sectionals.”

The Berries drew Lafayette Jeff in the sectional that takes place on Thursday, Oct. 13 at McCutcheon High School. This game would be a huge morale boost for this Berries team before they take on the Bronchos.

“I feel like I can speak for all of the seniors because having a win in one of these upcoming games would mean a lot to us because we don’t want to end our season without a win,” senior Finley Hettinger said. “The squad and I would feel more confident going into sectionals against Jeff if we got a win on Thursday night. Jeff has already faced us twice this season, and we think they are a team that can be defeated. Even though I want to win, I hope that the rest of the season will be competitive and enjoyable with this team.”
