Destruction

In the state of Alaska, many oil drilling projects take place, but one has picked up headlines and petitions against it. This is the Willow Project. According to NPR, the Willow Project is an oil drilling project approved by the Biden administration that will allow ConocoPhillips to drill for oil in the National Petroleum Reserve in northern Alaska. According to ConocoPhillips, this reserve will produce approximately 180,000 oil barrels daily. Initially, there were five drilling pads, but the Department of Interior has reduced the number to three. Even with the reduction in drilling pads, there will still be a release of carbon and other natural gasses that could be detrimental to the health of our environment.
