The first snows of January cause bad road conditions and low temperatures

Logansport was recently hit by ongoing snow storms multiple times at the beginning of 2024, including a few more days of snowfall. Temperatures dropped to the negatives, causing things to freeze.

To prepare for winter, people can salt their driveways, sidewalks, and even their main road if they have free time. They should make sure to wear layers upon layers since temperatures reaching the negatives can cause frostbite/hypothermia within 10 minutes of being outdoors. Check the weather in your area before making plans. If you feel the need to be outside to travel for school, work or emergencies, take things slow on the road. Mother nature may be beautiful, but she is dangerous. Due to these extreme weather conditions, look out for unique wildlife. Eagles are especially seen during this season. Most birds will migrate south for warmth, while others adapt to the weather changes.
