The Magpie Staff gets an opportunity to learn new things from a group of very skilled people, to help us learn and grow as a newspaper. Meeting some great people who showed us there’s so much more than just our little class in Logansport, IN. Giving students something to work toward and think about Ball State as a possible college in the future.

Molly Hunnicutt
Molly Hunnicutt, Reporter
Molly Hunnicutt is a first-year member of Magpie. In Magpie, she does a mixture of roles; she shares a podcast with Ellison Kitchell called the Pop-Cast, takes photos, and writes some feature articles. Something she enjoys about being on Magpie staff is taking photos and just making the small family of Magpie, the friends that she’s made, even in just a week, are super nice and outgoing. The other activities she is involved in, other than just Magpie, she spends her time being involved in Key Club, theater, Concert Choir, Swing Choir, and Band (which includes Marching and Pep Band). Some hobbies she likes to do are dance, sing, and act. In her free time, she is also a dancer, teaches dance, participates in Encore, and JCT plays/musicals.
Kailee Lake
Kailee Lake, Reporter
Kailee Lake is a Team Leader for Magpie. She mostly enjoys doing photo essays since it means she gets to use her own personal camera and show off her few years of skills. The college trips are one of her favorite parts of class activities because they offer guidance to future careers. She is in the Career Center Photography Class, which supports her hobby of taking pictures of nature outside of school. Kailee loves Red Dead Redemption to the point it’s basically her whole personality, and whenever it’s mentioned, she turns into the thousand-yard stare meme. She has also gotten into baking, even though she’s not all too confident in the kitchen.
