The annual Multicultural Festival at Logansport High School has recently faced different circumstances. Over the years, this school’s clubs have hosted this event; this year, in 2026, a new rule made the festival particularly unique.

For years, the multicultural festival has featured homemade food from dozens of cultures that are in Logansport, like Mexico, El Salvador, Haiti, Laos and Guatemala etc. for representation. This allowed families to show recipes and share their cultural background, passed down for generations. Organizers still say the festival will continue with music, dancing, a fashion show and cultural activities/games. Many worry, though about the effects of not bringing homemade foods as only store-bought ones are permitted.
People who are helping out with booths for specific countries now have to find alternatives to find and buy their country’s food. Despite this news, the festival can still celebrate diversity and bring the community together for the upcoming years.
