On Mar. 9, junior Izabella Corcoran attempts to serve the tennis ball to her opponents. It’s Corcoran’s first year playing tennis. Coach and teacher Adam Thompson has been offering optional workouts for any girl who wanted to join tennis for over a month. During the workouts, the girls have been doing various activities, such as stair laps, running and stretching. The girls tennis season officially started on Mar. 13. The team is excited to get back to trying to win the sectionals.

J-Hope, also known as, Jung Ho-Seok, is a South Korean music artist. J-Hope can rap, dance, write songs, sing and produce records. In 2013, he publicly announced himself as a member of the South Korean boy band BTS. Before debuting with BTS, J-Hope was part of a dance team called Neuron and took dance classes for 6 years at Gwangju Music Academy. He has a degree in Broadcasting and Entertainment from Global Cyber University. J-Hope is known to be energetic with tone and upbeat performances.

Almost half an hour until the ribbon cutting of the vending machine, fourth grader Clara Caudillo stops and gazes at all the books it contains. On Feb. 13, students and staff got the chance to see the vending machine in all its entirety. The machine has been at Landis Elementary for a couple of weeks, and students have been on the edge of their seats wanting to know how the machine works and how to use it. “We ordered our machine in November, and it was brought to Logansport right before Christmas break,” Long said. “This was definitely a process and took several different people to make this happen. We are so grateful for them. Ellen and I are especially grateful for our administration, who supported our idea and did everything they could to make this idea a reality.”

The Culinary Arts third and fourth period class prepares to cook for the teachers’ carry-in on Feb. 3. Before the students can cook, they have to put on their hair nets, wash their hands and sanitize the counters. “Since we cater and work around dangerous equipment, it is very important that each student knows some basic kitchen safety,” Saylor said. “Each year, the students start out with learning what is needed to be safe in the kitchen with equipment and food safety. They must pass the exam with an 80% or better to be in the lab. This is done so that I do not worry if the kiddos will serve unsafe foods.”

Still in good condition is the promotional booklet of the Logansport High School from 1973. On the right page of the booklet is a picture of the library from when Logansport High School had just opened. Principal Matt Jones was looking through the booklet in 2016 and realized that the library hadn’t changed since 1973. This exact picture is what inspired Jones and superintendent Michelle Starkey to start the renovation of the library.
