What made you want to become a lawyer?
I became a lawyer because I wanted to help people. I originally thought I’d go into a different field when I started college, but during my junior year, a conversation with someone who loved law school really inspired me to change my path.
What brought you to Logansport?
I grew up in Logansport, Indiana. My family moved here from Michigan when my dad got a job at the hospital. After going away for college and law school, I came back to be closer to my family. I really love the small-town feel, and I think Logansport has changed for the better since I left at 18.

Why did you choose immigration law?
I’ve always been interested in immigration law. There wasn’t a single moment that made me sure it was right for me, but I enjoy the work and my clients, and it’s been a great fit so far.
Do you have any regrets about going into immigration law?
I have no regrets about choosing to go into law. Sure, there are some hard days, but I always remind myself of why I started: helping people through tough times is really special, and I’m glad I get to do it.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
There are so many rewarding parts of my job! Meeting with clients and helping them get permanent residency or citizenship is always a highlight.
What would you tell students who are interested in law?
There are so many areas of law, and I’d definitely encourage anyone interested in becoming a lawyer to go to law school. It can be challenging, but if you stay focused and study hard, you can succeed. I suggest looking for internships or volunteering at different law firms to get a feel for the various types of legal work.
