Where did you grow up and go to high school?
I was born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana. I graduated from McCutcheon High School.
How long have you been playing basketball for?
Since I can remember, the first organized basketball team I played on was at the Y when I was probably 6 years old.
What college did you attend, and did you play basketball for them?
I attended Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana, on a full-ride scholarship for basketball. I played there for four years, scoring 1,926 points, and am currently 10th all-time in the school’s history for scoring.
How has that shaped you as a person?
Playing at Grace allowed me to be a part of a lot of things that most people never get to be a part of, experiences that helped mold me into who I am today. Playing college basketball for four years taught me a lot about discipline, being held accountable, and ultimately helped me mature.
Have you coached anywhere else before coaching for Logansport High School?Â
I did some youth coaching during my time at Grace in the summers and sometimes during the season at the boys and girls club, where I occasionally worked.

Would you say playing college basketball has implemented any skills you drive your players to work on?Â
I would say the two big ones that playing college basketball taught me are discipline and accountability. Having the discipline to do things the right way in everything you do, not cutting corners or taking shortcuts. Then accountability, being held accountable in the classroom and to the team, is huge in basketball. Those will be two big traits that we emphasize in the basketball program at LHS. These two things go far beyond playing sports; they are something I try to focus on in my everyday life, and will be something we try to have our players implement not only on the court but off the court as well.
Do you have any association with Logansport Community School Corporation aside from coaching?
Yes, I do. I currently serve as the Dean of Students at Logansport Intermediate School. I am finishing up my second full year in that role. Before that, I taught U.S. Government at LHS for three years.
How long have you been coaching at Logansport High School, and what did you coach?
This next basketball season will be my 6th total year coaching in the program, my 1st as the head coach. The last 5 seasons I spent as the JV coach/varsity assistant. I also coached junior high boys soccer for 4 years and junior high girls soccer for 2 years.
